From Yellowstone to the Sunshine State - In Admiration of Arkansas, Part 1

From Flagstaff, I drove nine hours to reach Amarillo, Texas, where I spent the night and went to Palo Duro Canyon State Park the next day. While it was a nice park, the climb up to Lighthouse Rock was confusing and the trail was heavily eroded. Thus, I had to give up before I got seriously hurt.

From Palo Duro, I hopped back on I-40 and drove another eight hours to Elkins, Arkansas, a suburb of Fayetteville, where I spent three nights.

Here's a few pictures of Palo Duro and fathoms more of Arkansas.

Very little water falling off Hemmed-in-Hollow right now, but the ~209 foot cliff is still impressive.
