Here's some highlights from my journey north.
The landscape of Providence Canyon was caused by poor farming practices that severely eroded the soil. It now looks like something you might find out in the Southwestern part of the States. It is a truly amazing sight. Providence Canyon State Park, GA
A small slot in the walls of Providence Canyon - a perfect hiding place.
"Boss Nass" Rock (Any Phantom Menace fans out there?), Providence Canyon, GA
Light shines through a crevasse in Providence Canyon.
The Hoodoos of Providence Canyon, GA.
A gorgeous waterfall at Rock Island State Park, TN.
A side perspective of the same waterfall. Very slippery footing here.
The sun was in a bad spot, so this picture doesn't quite do Twin Falls justice. This is a must-see if you're in Tennessee. Rock Island State Park, TN
The breathtaking Burgess Falls. Can you see the rainbow? Burgess Falls State Park, TN
Burgess Falls, put a bit further into perspective. What a beautiful place.
Frustratingly poor light and a lack of time precluded a decent photo of Cummins Falls, but here's the best I could do under the circumstances. I sure wish I had time to make it to the bottom of the falls, but the park was about to close. I'll have to return soon. Cummins Falls State Park, TN
The "old" entrance to Mammoth Cave. Mammoth Cave National Park, KY
Looking up at the roof of the old entrance. Mammoth Cave National Park, KY
A glimpse into the past of Mammoth Cave National Park.
A second glance back at that glimpse.
Light filters down to the forest floor. Mammoth Cave NP, KY
One of the many "disappearing creeks" of Mammoth Cave.
A good look at the Green River. Mammoth Cave NP, KY
