For the first week of April, I spent my time up in the Carolinas tackling some challenging trails and visiting family.
Ended up doing the most difficult hike I've done in the past four years at Table Rock in the mountains of South Carolina. The wind was blowing over the exposed ridges and the trail was rutted, making for some treacherous conditions, but the views and feeling of accomplishment were worth it. I probably won't hike that way again though.
Got to see my sister's new house for the first time and spend time with her pup. We ended up going to downtown Blowing Rock - a very charming place that I'll be coming back to.
All in all, this was one of three long trips I've planned to take this year while I still have the flexibility in my schedule to do so, so I've got quite a bit more to come this year.
